Designated Ohio Healthy Programs (Count)

Measurement Period: 2021
This indicator shows the number of early childhood programs that achieved the Ohio Healthy Programs designation (new or renewal) during the calendar year.

Why is this important?

Ohio Healthy Programs (OHP) is a voluntary, statewide designation for licensed early care and education (ECE) programs that focuses on creating healthy eating and activity environments for young children. The overall goal is to prevent obesity and reduce the risk of physical and mental health problems. This program offers training and technical assistance for early care and education providers on best practices in building healthy habits, menus, policies and family engagement support. Designated Ohio Healthy Programs choose to go above and beyond licensing requirements for health and show they are dedicated to the health and wellness of the children they serve.
